Iran US Tention and the rest of world

            The positions of Iran and the United States remain far apart, although both sides are still engaged in indirect diplomacy.

United States' position

  • The U.S. says it is willing to continue negotiations but has warned that if talks fail, it is prepared to take further military action.
  • Washington is demanding that Iran:

Iran's position

  • Iran says it remains open to diplomacy but rejects negotiating under military pressure.
  • Tehran insists it has sovereign authority over the Strait of Hormuz and has resisted U.S. demands to make a public declaration on navigation there.
  • Iranian officials have also warned that any new U.S. or Israeli attacks would be met with retaliation.

Current situation


    There is no full peace agreement. Military tensions remain high, but diplomatic contacts are continuing through regional mediators such as Oman, Qatar, and Pakistan. The main unresolved issues are Iran's nuclear program, security in the Strait of Hormuz, and preventing further military escalation.
